Here’s Everything You Need to Know About the GNIMB Token Launch and The Transition Plan

It’s been a week since GNIMB launched, and we checked an essential box on our roadmap. But we still got various questions from community members, so we feel it’s important to provide you with a recap of everything this launch means.

Below, you will find all the relevant information regarding the GNIMB token and the transition period that started with the launch and will end with GNIMB completely replacing GNBU. So read along for all you need to know on this matter — what the new token represents, its purpose, and how it will replace GNBU in every section.

But first things first. Let’s round up the information on what GNIMB represents.

What Is GNIMB?

GNIMB is the new Nimbus governance token, launched on November 16th. A transition period will follow after the launch, in which GNIMB will fully replace GNBU.

GNIMB is a refactored GNBU contract with a fixed total supply of 100,000,000 tokens.

Why did we need such a contract? Because we want to perfect the governance process and ensure all key DAO participants are equally involved in the governance process. Since Nimbus is a DAO-governed system, having a solid and efficient decisional process is essential.

The Tools

The tools which enable the transition from GNBU to GNIMB:

• The Converter
• The Swap machine.

With the Nimbus Converter tool, GNBU holders can change their GNBU tokens to GNIMB at a 1:1 ratio.

The Swap machine will also be useful in this process, as we will create new pairs to ease the transition. The first one is the GNIMB/BNB pair, which was launched on November 16th, 2022. The next one will be the GNIMB/NIMB pair on December 1st, 2022. This makes it easy for users with liquidity on GNBU/NBU and GNBU/BNB pairs Nimbus Swap and PancakeSwap, respectively, to migrate their liquidity to the new pairs.

The dApps

To make everything run smoothly, we have created a transition plan for the pool and the dApps to enable an efficient replacement of the GNBU tokens with the new GNIMB.

Let’s see exactly how the transition is happening in each direction.

Regarding our liquidity providers, we invite you to start providing liquidity to the new pair GNIMB/BNB to receive LP staking rewards in GNIMB, with APR up to 100%. This is a limited offer only between 16/11/2022 and 16/12/2022.

LP Staking

For LP Staking, the transition is happening in the following steps:

• We have decreased the APR on the LP Staking GNBU-BNB to 0% APR and simultaneously deployed new liquidity pairs, including GNIMB/BNB with 100% APR.
• The users’ rewards on the old GNBU pairs are zeroed in the interface, and we’re sending the accrued rewards to all users by airdrop in NBU tokens without vesting.
• We closed the ability to put new tokens in the LP Staking GNBU-BNB and enabled liquidity provisioning in the new LP Staking GNIMB-BNB with 100% APR.

Limited-period opportunity!

For all new LP Stаking GNIMB — BNB created in period 16.11.22 -16.12.22, we are distributing rewards in GNIMB. For users who don’t withdraw rewards in this period, all rewards will be paid in NIMB tokens after 16/12/22.

Moving your liquidity to the GNIMB/BNB pair means 100% APR, and if you withdraw your rewards before 16/12/2022, they will be in GNIMB — granting you voting power!

Hard & Soft Staking

In the Hard & Soft Staking section, the transition is as follows:

Existing NBU Hard & Soft Stakings — no changes

Existing GNBU Hard & Soft Stakings

Now that the Nimbus Converter tool was launched, the GNBU Staking can only be withdrawn. As for rewards for old stakings, they are paid in NBU.

New Hard & Soft Stakings for GNIMB tokens remain with the same conditions as for GNBU. If you create them from 16/11/2022 to 16/12/2022, you will get the rewards in GNIMB.

After 16/12/2022, ALL rewards will be paid in NIMB tokens. That includes new stakings created after December 16th and the rewards for previous stakings that the users didn’t withdraw until 16/12/2022.

So make sure you withdraw your rewards before the limited-time opportunity to be the first to get your hands on the GNIMB token!

Now, let’s see what the transition means for the Nimbus Smart NFTs:

For every Smart Staker NFT and Smart LP NFT minted between 16/11/ 2022 and 16/12/ 2022, the rewards are paid in GNIMB tokens. It’s a unique opportunity to be the first one to acquire the new Nimbus governance tokens. Moreover, users who have purchased NFTs before Nov. 16 will also receive the rewards in GNIMB tokens.

!!! Don’t forget to withdraw your rewards before 16/12/2022 to get them in GNIMB tokens.

NFT Smart LP

Users who have purchased the NFT Smart LP before 16/11/2022 receive GNIMB instead of GNBU after they burn the NFT. As for rewards, they are also paid in GNIMB.

Here’s an example to see how this is put into practice:

For all the new NFTs created between 16/11 and 16/12/2022 the rewards are accumulated and distributed in GNIMB. For users who don’t withdraw the rewards during this period, all rewards will be paid in NIMB tokens after 16/12/2022. For new NFTs created after 16/12/2022, rewards will be accrued and distributed in NIMB tokens instead of GNIMB.

NFT Smart Staker

For NFT Smart Staker, the transition mechanism is the same as for NFT Smart LP.

If you bought the NFT Smart Staker before 16/11/2022, you receive GNIMB instead of GNBU after you burn the NFT. As for rewards, they are also paid in GNIMB.

If you create a new NFT Smart Staker between 16/11 and 16/12/2022, you are paid rewards in GNIMB. But if you don’t withdraw the rewards during this period, know that all rewards will be paid in NIMB tokens after 16/12/2022.

If you create a new NFT after 16/12/2022, you will receive the rewards in NIMB tokens.

The Opportunity behind the Transition

We have designed the transition to be seamless across the entire Nimbus ecosystem to ensure a smooth experience transitioning from GNBU to GNIMB.

But aside from making the change simple, we also wanted to turn it into an opportunity to reward our loyal users and tighten our community even further. How? By providing, for a small period, the chance to receive the rewards in GNIMB, thus becoming the first to receive the new governance tokens, which by default entitles GNIMB holders to voting rights!

Las herramientas

LP Staking

Ahora que se lanzó la herramienta Nimbus Converter, solo se puede retirar en el GNBU Staking. En cuanto a las recompensas por stakes antiguos, se pagan en NBU.

Los nuevos Stakes Hard & Soft para tokens GNIMB permanecen con las mismas condiciones que para los GNBU. Si los creas del 16/11/2022 al 16/12/2022, obtendrás las recompensas en GNIMB.

Después del 16/12/2022, TODAS las recompensas se pagarán en tokens NIMB. Eso incluye nuevos stakes creados después del 16 de diciembre y las recompensas de stakes anteriores que los usuarios no retiraron hasta el 16/12/2022.

NFT Smart LP

Los usuarios que compraron NFT Smart LP antes del 16/11/2022 reciben GNIMB en lugar de GNBU después de quemar el NFT. En cuanto a las recompensas, también se pagan en GNIMB.
